The mysterious producer has been a Lucid Monday mainstay for some time now, making his debut on the label back in 2018 with LM018, and landing on more than handful of label compilations since. With consistent releases over the past years, as well as collaborations with the likes of pandi, lvusm, ini, Roshima, olswel and many more, bsterthegawd is an undisputed tastemaker who is not afraid to break boundaries and push outside his comfort zone.
A little over a year till his 2021 project disorder!, bsterthegawd has now returned with one of his most exciting projects to date, unveiling 12 brand new tracks on GAWDS NEVER DIE. Led by the impressive single “FANG,” GAWDS NEVER DIE makes for yet another stunning display of bsterthegawd’s prowess as a producer, and only further cements him as a leading force within the underground.
The project kicks off with “WHY NOT KILL?” and “remain_,” two instrumentals that nicely showcase bsterthegawd’s style with their eerie atmospheres and slow trap rhythms. Gems like “here2stay,” “luv_rivals,” "i hope this gets to you” and “echo,” on the other hand, act as a callback to the sample-heavy hip-hop beats of the 90s. The entire project features an unmatched sonic versatility, drawing inspiration from lots of different styles and eras while managing to stay true to the producer’s unique sound.
