Harris Cole And Somni Unveil 5-Track EP ‘Sirens’
After having taken a small break since he released his two-track project Hey, September in the summer of 2020, Harris Cole has finally returned to unveil his brand new EP Sirens in collaboration with UK-born producer and singer/songwriter Somni. The LA-based producer has been active within the instrumental hip-hop scene for some time now, while his first official release on digital platforms “Game Over,” which was released back in 2016, saw viral success after being used in more than 2 million videos on TikTok years later.
Spanning over 5 soothing tracks, Sirens makes up for a perfect combination of Harris Cole and Somni’s styles. Somni started making music at an early age while studying classical, jazz and folk music, and later moved on to start making beats after being inspired by the likes of Flying Lotus, Shlohmo and Teebs.
Wonderfully traversing from the ambient intro “Bessemer” to the groovy lo-fi closer “Sirens,” which is the only track featuring Somni’s vocals, Sirens EP is an undeniably smooth listen that takes you on a journey from start to finish, and is able to accompany some of your most relaxing moments with its hidden details and smooth atmospheres.
