Medasin Releases New Single Exclusively On sound.xyz And Sells Out Instantly
With more and more musicians expressing their concern with the way the traditional music industry is being shaped right now, NFTs and the ways they enable fans to provide their direct support are being openly embraced by many as a new way to release music.
Prolific producer and multi-instrumentalist Medasin has done just that with his latest release “Always In A Hurry,” which he released exclusively on sound.xyz, a new platform that allows fans to purchase limited-edition NFTs linked to songs, while giving them the ability to leave a public comment and immortalize themselves as part of the artist’s loyal audience.
“Always In A Hurry,“ which marks Medasin’s first release since his sophomore album Ripples in early 2020, was released with 69 limited edition NFTs that sold out almost instantly for 0.1 ETH each, netting a total of 6.9 ETH (or almost $20k at the time of sale).
“Always In A Hurry” is the first single off Medasin’s forthcoming instrumental project, and is also available for public listening on sound.xyz. Sonically, it marks a clear artistic leap for the boundary-pushing producer, who offered some great insight on the song alongside the NFT release.
