MISOGI Reemerges With Striking New Single, “IMAGINE TECHNICOLOUR”
MISOGI’s creative journey has been undoubtedly a wild one to experience.
Fresh off the release of his STAR SEEKER VOL. 2 mix, where he unveiled a brand new collection of demos and edits, the mysterious artist is now ushering a brand new era with his breathtaking single, “IMAGINE TECHNICOLOUR.” A thrilling sonic journey, filled with pitch-shifted vocals and striking melodic elements, “IMAGINE TECHNICOLOUR” is a truly stunning progression within MISOGI’s musical universe, yet makes perfect sense in the context of his entire discography.
The internet-bred producer received massive critical acclaim almost 10 years ago via his collaborations with everyone from Night Lovell, BONES and lil aaron to Oshi, josh pan and Dylan Brady, riding the moody, trap-influenced aesthetic that dominated the mid-2010s. His colossal 2016 album PLAYMISOGI® marked the pinnacle of that sound, before the producer and singer moved to guitar-driven dream pop on 2017’s Death Metal and 2019’s Blood Moon Underworld.
“IMAGINE TECHNICOLOUR” finds MISOGI once again reinventing himself, while maintaining the subtle hyperpop stylings that dominated his music over the past years, especially throughout his little*stars EP, which was released back in 2020 and featured collaborations with nothing,nowhere, Lil West, Instupendo and more.
“IMAGINE TECHNICOLOUR” is initially filled with distorted bass stabs and futuristic chords, while MISOGI’s alien-sounding vocal harmonies lend an otherworldly feel to the track. As the production becomes increasingly complex with the help of distorted elements and subtle piano chords, the arrangement does the exact same, keeping listeners on their toes all throughout.
