Mr. Carmack Drops Mesmerizing New EP, ‘CHAOS’
Marking his first project since 2020’s Paradis 1 alongside Project Paradis and Promnite - which was released by way of Mad Decent - electronic music pioneer Mr. Carmack has returned with a mind-bending EP. Titled CHAOS and spanning over 5 brand new tracks, Mr. Carmack’s latest project only continues to cement him as a trailblazer within electronic music.
Mr. Carmack is still buzzing off his recent collaboration with ZHU, “Wet,” off his latest surprise Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 1). With his brand new project now out as well, it’s looking like the latter half of 2022 is going to be more than explosive for Mr. Carmack.
“MAKE ME DANCE” kicks off CHAOS EP with groovy chords and playful vocals samples, that are followed by wonky bass sounds. “BASSMENT” alongside Project Paradis is driven by an unmatched breakbeat groove, while heavenly atmospheres juxtapose gritty basslines. “MAKE EM KNOCK” is a minimal showcase of Mr. Carmack’s trap mastery with its hard-hitting 808s and groovy percussion, while “SOUND THE ALARM” might be the hardest tune of the bunch. Finally, “NEWBEGINNINGS” completes the tracklist with its mesmerizing atmospheres, starting off as an ambient vibe before infectious melodies and trap-leaning drums are introduced.
