Sam Gellaitry Unveils Dancefloor-Ready EP, ‘UNDER THE ILLUSION’
A year after his colossal VF VOL II album, which was met with glowing reviews as fans embraced his new direction with open arms, Sam Gellaitry has now returned with his latest EP, UNDER THE ILLUSION.
The past year has been explosive for the iconic Scottish producer. On top of being spotted working in the studio with Skrillex, Kenny Beats and more, he has signed with Warner Music Group’s new electronic music imprint, Major Recordings. The first release to come out of the fresh partnership, UNDER THE ILLUSION combines Sam Gellaitry’s best qualities, pulling wide inspiration from across his catalog while calling back to his love of house music.
Sam Gellaitry undoubtedly is a producer’s producer, something clearly evident all throughout UNDER THE ILLUSION. The title track, which aptly kicks off the project, is driven by soothing vocals and sparkly synths, before “Alone” continues the sonic journey with its funky chords and vintage ambiance. “LIKE THIS / LIKE THAT” makes for the project's deepest cut, while “THINK I KNOW” is as groovy as it is infectious.
