Skrillex Announces ‘Don’t Get Too Close’ Album & Unveils Self-Titled Single Alongside Bibi Bourelly

Directly following the announcement of his album Quest For Fire with a Liam Underwood-directed bassment set, Skrillex has just dropped yet another major announcement.

The iconic producer stepped back into the limelight earlier this year when he teased two albums slated for release over the next 12 months, going on to unveil numerous singles from both. The first project, titled Quest For Fire, is out February 17th and will include the heavier side of Skrillex’s recent releases, such as “Rumble” with Fred again.. and Flowdan and “Xena” alongside Nai Barghouti, on top of collaborations with the likes of Four Tet, Starrah, Aluna, Kito and more.

It was widely assumed that rather radio-ready singles such as “Way Back” with PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd, or “Real Spring” featuring Bladee would make an appearance on Skrillex’s second album, which has now been officially announced, alongside its title track, “Don’t Get Too Close.”

“Don’t Get Too Close” features production credits from Lido and singing from Bibi Bourelly, who is also slated to appear on the closing track of Quest For Fire in collaboration with Porter Robinson. An unexpected but welcomed change of pace for Skrillex, the track also sees him featured under his real name Sonny Moore. Towards the backend of the track, which is driven by a stunning assortment of melodies and ambiances, Skrillex is heard singing for the first time in 8 years, following his vocal contributions to Jack Ü’s 2015 single “Mind” alongside kai.

The release date of Don't Get Too Close hasn't been announced at the time of writing. Quest For Fire is out February 17th, and can be presaved here.
