Skrillex Joins Forces With Bobby Raps For Exhilarating Single “Leave Me Like This”
Skrillex has stepped back into the spotlight in a colossal way over the first three weeks of 2023. It’s not even February yet and the bass music icon just unveiled his third single of the year, uniting with BobbyRaps on “Leave Me Like This.”
The bass house anthem finds Skrillex adding even more fuel to the fire after rapidly returning to the limelight as one of the most talked-about acts within electronic music with “Rumble” alongside Fred again.. and Flowdan and “Way Back” with PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd.
Juxtaposing the haunting bass sequences of “Rumble” and the tender drum & bass grooves of “Way Back,” leave me like this is an explosive bass house gem. First teased on Fred again..’s iconic Boiler Room set last year, the heavy-hitting single is filled with exciting moments all throughout.
A sample from Wu-Tang member Inspectah Deck’s verse on Raekwon’s 2009 song “House of Flying Daggers” precedes the first drop, while Skrillex’s signature “oh my god!” sample also makes an appearance towards the latter half. While the track’s climaxes are fuelled with distorted and chaotic sound design, the prevailing ambiance of “Leave Me Like This” is mesmerizing and ethereal, making for an auditory result that undoubtedly takes listeners on a journey.
BobbyRaps, who lends his vocals on the track, has established himself as one of the most prevalent producers within hip-hop and beyond over the past years.
