San Francisco's very own Larry June has been setting the blueprint for how an independent artist should go about growing their career for some time now, with almost two dozen projects out since 2010. Following his earlier 2022 album 2 P's In A Pod alongside Jay Worthy and LNDN DRGS, the buzzing rapper has now returned with his latest full-length effort, Spaceships on the Blade. The project features an impressive lineup of producers, so here are our favorite ones who contributed to the laid-back sound of the record.

Julian Avila

With unmatched versatility and a large number of A-list collaborations, Julian Avila has been cementing himself as an exciting producer to watch for some time now. He lands on three songs off Spaceships on the Blade as a producer, while he has also built up an extensive catalog of solo works as an artist.

Soudiere

Production credits on “Spaceships & Orange Juice”

Hailing from France, Soudiere is often credited as one of the most influential people in popularizing the widespread phonk genre, alongside DJ SMOKEY and DJ YUNG VAMP. He has extensively worked with Freddie Dredd, while having amassed a massive audience on SoundCloud, where he has been posting beats since 2016.

Sango

Production credits on “Organic Adjustments”

Heavily associated with tastemaker label and collective Soulection, Sango unveiled his debut album North back in 2014, and has released almost a dozen projects ever since, while working alongside widely celebrated artists such as Frank Ocean, Mick Jenkins, Bryson Tiller, Smino and Denzel Curry.

Jake One

Hailing from Seattle, Jake One is one of the longest-standing producers within the scene, with his diverse production credits ranging from the likes of Drake, MF DOOM and Rick Ross to The Weekend, Kehlani, and J. Cole. He was part of The Money Management Group, G-Unit’s production team, and released his first album White van Music back in 2008.
