“Transitions” - Deffie & chromonicci
Two of the most prominent producers of the golden SoundCloud era, Deffie and chromonicci have teamed up for the first time to deliver a stunning new song with “Transitions.” This new collaboration certainly comes with great anticipation; both artists have been on their A-game for years now.
Deffie began releasing music on Soundcloud in 2014, having dropped massive hits such as “It Ain’t Full” with sober rob & Masego and “Jumpsuit 2” with ROMderful. Influenced by the likes of Flying Lotus, Kaytranada, and Pharrell Williams, he has collaborated with prominent talents such as Mr. Carmack, Oshi, Kaelin Ellis, DE’WAYNE, Ehirobo, Dabow, Leroy Menace, L*o*J and more.
chromonicci has been crafting his own lane for a handful of years now as well, making sure to stay overly consistent with his release schedule. Being on 8 of the last 10 Lucid Monday compilations, he has released over a dozen singles just in 2020, on top of a 7-track collaborative album with Evil Needle, and many more projects.
“Transitions” undoubtedly brings together the best of both worlds: smooth beats, playful melodies and hard-hitting basslines. Starting in a rather minimal way, “Transitions” jumps into a heavy, vocal chop-driven section, while later on moving into an ambient and melodic outro. Make sure to check it out below:
