Two Misch Uncovers ‘Change / Take My Time’ Off New Dance Music Project, Supershy
With over 1 billion collective streams across his catalog, as well as a handful of albums under his belt, South London multi-instrumentalist and producer Tom Misch has been methodically cementing himself as one of the most exciting names to watch within music for some time now. A trailblazer in his own right, he shared his collaborative album with Yussef Dayes, What Kinda Music, in mid 2020, following that up with Quarantine Sessions last year, an immersive collection of mesmerizing guitar covers.
It’s clear that Tom Misch’s resilience has led him to intense musical exploration throughout the past two years, and he is now finally ready to fully unveil the result: his new musical project Supershy. Inspired by the classic deep house sounds of widely-celebrated pioneers such as Larry Heard and Kerri Chandler, Tom Misch made his debut as Supershy with “Happy Music” and “Something on My Mind” earlier this year, while he has now ignited the dancefloor once again with “Change” alongside Wayne Snow and “Take My Time” with Vula.
Groovy and intimate, “Change” is an immersive and vintage deep house tune, which is driven by groovy basslines, smooth chords and sharp drums under Wayne Snow's timeless-sounding topline. “Take My Time,” on the other hand, slowly builds up into a combination of funk and disco, filled with hard-hitting drums, irresistible bass and infectious guitar chords.
Tom Misch’s forthcoming Supershy mixtape is out this fall. Enjoy “Change” and “Take My Time” below:
